Archive for August, 2010Bankruptcies Rise, Reversing a Trend-WSJFriday, August 6th, 2010 According to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal, more Americans filed for bankruptcy in July, reversing a trend of declining filings over the previous three months. Filings were up 9% compared to the same month a year ago.This is confirmation that people continue to struggle with excessive debt brought on by credit cards, foreclosures, etc. So far this year there have been nearly 908,000 filings nationwide, putting the nation on track for well over 1,000,000 filings by year end.
